Easy Americana Craft
Check out this fun Americana Craft idea! You can watch the video below and then also scroll for supplies and the How-To.
Supplies:
- Scrap wood
- 3 wooden stars
- Fabric of your choice
- Red White & Blue embellishments
- Paint
- Brown wax
- Fabri-tac
How-To:
I begin by painting my scrap wooden with a Waverly paint in the color Plaster.

I then take my brown wax and lightly brush it onto the edges and sides of the board. This process will give the project an aged look.
I now take my fabric and wrap it over the end of my board. The length of your fabric will depend on on how deep you like your pocket to be. My choice of fabric here is a black ticking pattern. I did fold both ends for a more finished look. (You can skip this part).

I then flip my board over to begin gluing my fabric down onto the board. I bring the fabric forward to the front on the board and begin to glue the two sides of the board. Make sure to leave some slack to the fabric to create a pocket in the front.

Next, I took my three wooden stars and painted them with red, white and blue colors. I also took my brown wax ( Behr brown wax, you can get at Home Depot), I lightly brushed the wax onto the painted stars for an aged look.

I now begin to embellish my project. I used a USA wooden ornament I bought at Hobby Lobby. I glued this to the top of my project. They have so many cute Americana ornaments. So use these for your projects they are very inexpensive!

I added greenery into the pocket, then I added my three wooden stars.
I later added a small flag into my pocket for a more Patriotic feel. I hope this inspires you to create your next Patriotic project!
